Veselin Vasilev

I am Ves and I started at Kingsteignton Vets in the Summer of 2023. I also work within the sister branch South Devon Veterinary Hospital and Referrals.

I was previously working in an academic setting and after gaining my PhD I chose to develop my career in the veterinary surgeon field. For a long time, I was working in a busy clinic with Brachycephalic breeds in particular. In the last few years I have qualified in small animal surgery as a PgCert holder. My interests are in the veterinary orthopaedics field.

I am in the process of enhancing my current qualification to gain a certificate in advanced orthopaedic surgery of small animals. I strongly believe the science and practical side of the veterinary role should be closely linked and my scientific background has helped a lot when facing challenges during my career.

Outside of work I like to walk with my dog Amber, explore the beautiful area of the South Coast and dedicating quite a lot of my free time improving my passion in the sport Judo.
